In May 2026, we launched the VerveSport Run Club with a simple idea — to bring people together, get moving and create something positive within the local community.
Since then, the Run Club has grown into something we are incredibly proud of.
Every Wednesday and Saturday, people from different backgrounds, fitness levels and walks of life have turned up, supported each other and pushed themselves forward. What started as an idea has quickly become a powerful reminder of what can happen when people come together with the right attitude, the right environment and a shared purpose.
For us, the VerveSport Run Club has never been about pace, egos or being the fastest person there. It is about commitment. It is about structure. It is about getting out of the house, clearing your mind, surrounding yourself with good people and becoming better together.
More Than a Run Club
Running can mean different things to different people.
For some, it is about fitness. For others, it is about routine, confidence, mental clarity or having something positive to focus on each week.
That is what has made the VerveSport Run Club so special. It has created a space where people can turn up as they are, without judgement, and feel part of something.
There are no egos. No pressure to be perfect. No expectation to be the quickest. Just a group of people encouraging each other, supporting each other and making sure everyone gets over the line.
That community feeling has been one of the biggest reasons the Run Club has grown so strongly since May.

Friendly, Welcoming and Ego-Free
One of our regular runners, Hebe, summed up the atmosphere perfectly.
“If anybody is thinking about joining a Run Club, VerveSport is the one. The people are so friendly and welcoming, but also there’s no egos and those who attend are always pushing each other to get over the line.
“Running has changed my life. It has given me a purpose and I know if I don’t turn up, I am only letting myself down and those who have organised the run. It’s great to get out from the house, breathe in the fresh air and be around positive people.”
That is exactly what we hoped the Run Club would become.
A place where people feel welcomed. A place where people feel accountable. A place where people can find routine, fresh air, positivity and support from others who want to see them do well.
Creating Focus and Bringing the Buzz Back
For Sean, the Run Club has helped bring back a sense of focus and momentum.
“VerveSport’s Run Club has given me a focus. Running has helped me in the past for my mind, but since joining this amazing group, I feel like I have that buzz back and for my health, it’s been vital.
“I first saw the company on social media and have been following for a while, and when I saw they were starting a Run Club, I wanted to be part of it from the very start.
"It’s a great social initiative and even the coffee at the end is quality.”
This is what community sport is all about.
It is not just the run itself. It is the conversations before, the encouragement during, the coffee afterwards and the feeling of knowing you have done something positive with your day.
Sometimes that structure can be the thing people need most.

Purpose, Change and a New Direction
One of the most powerful stories connected to the Run Club is Ben’s.
Ben has been open about his journey and how running has played a major role in helping him turn his life around.
“In life you can change your life around. It’s never too late.
"Recently I did a challenge of 300km in just three days, where I raised money for Manchester Royal Infirmary and Wythenshawe Hospital — a place where I was on life-support for three weeks.
“I was addicted to drinking and taking drugs for eight years where I was just getting to the stage of blacking out daily. I had to do something about it and after six months in hospital in total, I now have a purpose.
"Running has been at the forefront of my turnaround, and being part of VerveSport is just a massive honour for me. Here's to what's next!”
Ben’s story is a reminder that change is possible.
It is never too late to take a different path, find purpose and rebuild. His journey shows the strength, discipline and courage it takes to make a change — and it also shows the power of having something positive to hold onto.
Running has become more than exercise for Ben. It has become part of his purpose.
Stories like this are exactly why the VerveSport Run Club matters.
Driven by Purpose
At VerveSport, “Driven by Purpose” is more than just a phrase. It is something we believe in.
Purpose can look different for everyone.
It might be getting fitter. It might be improving your mental health. It might be meeting new people. It might be building confidence. It might be having one positive commitment each week that keeps you moving forward.
Whatever the reason, the most important thing is turning up.
That is what we have seen every Wednesday and Saturday — people choosing to show up for themselves and for each other.

Built by the Local Community
The success of the Run Club belongs to everyone who has been part of it.
Every person who has turned up, encouraged someone else, brought positive energy, joined the conversation or pushed themselves through another run has helped build what this is becoming.
We are proud to see the VerveSport Run Club growing in the local community, but more than anything, we are proud of the people involved.
This is not about being the fastest. It is about consistency. Commitment. Support. Structure. Conversation. Fresh air. Positive people. And having a reason to keep going.
